THUNDER BAY – Some of the city’s finest chefs are teaming up this evening to cook a feast for the city’s most vulnerable people.
Chefs from Beaux Daddy's, Bight, Daytona's and the Victoria Inn were at the Shelter Houses kitchen Monday night cooking up a warm meal for residents.
Chef Derek Lankinen said the evening’s meal was an Asian five spice pork loin, with a coconut sauce, potatoes and a vegetable medley.
He added that getting a bunch of chefs together in one kitchen, makes things interesting.
“We get a lot of random donations for lots of different things that not everybody would know how to utilize in a unique way,” Lankinen said.
“A chef would think about it a little differently and we make things a little more interesting than we normally would.”
Eight chefs participated in the event and Monday was the final time this year the chefs cooked at the Shelter House.
