THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay's Multicultural Association has found a new way to attract Chinese Nationals that may want to make the city their new home.

The Multicultural Association hopes to see a rise in Chinese nationals moving into the city, after announcing new videos have been made to promote Thunder Bay broad.

The videos were made by a company called Fairfield Productions who are based out of Toronto.

There are a number of videos that show different aspects and highlights of Thunder Bay, ranging from the outdoor experience to the culinary industry.

Multicultural Association executive director Cathy Woodbeck said Chinese immigrants will be a boost to the city's economy.

"Possibilities for businesses, things that are for sale and business succession in Thunder Bay," Woodback said.

"We focused on professionals coming to the city, different employment availability and large and small employers."

There are currently more than 1000 Chinese people who have immigrated and call Thunder Bay their home.

They are a big influence on other Chinese nationals thinking about moving from either China or people that have already moved to Canada but live in larger cities such as Montreal, Vancouver or Toronto.

"The Chinese community is growing on a regular basis in Thunder Bay," Woodbeck said.

"They encourage the movement of their family and people that they know to Thunder Bay. They're the champions back home encouraging others to do the same thing."

The videos will start being played this week at Fairfield, who will broadcast them across Canada to the Chinese audience, and internationally at a number of different stations in China.
