The local job market may look bleak for the next few months, says a national report.
The Conference Board of Canada released its Near-term Help Wanted Index for 27 metropolitan centres across Canada. The study shows Thunder Bay is among 15 cities where employment is expected to drop over the next few months.
Two more of the communities surveyed are looking at neutral employment growth.
The reports states that the city should expect a geographic shift in where job prospects come from.
While job growth has been more evident in Eastern Canada recently, the majority of centres with positive job creation are expected to be in Western Canada
