Thunder Bay lawyer Chris Knutsen is one of two lawyers in the province who will receive the Ontario Bar Associations Award of Excellence for Insurance Law.
Knutsen is being cited for a long and distinguished career in which he's made an important contribution the practice of insurance law.
Among the major cases cited in naming him as a recipient, the Bar Association points to his involvement in the Dryden Air Crash inquiry. Several major cases involving the mining industry and a landmark case he argued in front of the Supreme Court involving the death of a child on a school bus were also cited by the Bar Association.
Knutsen will receive his award next Wednesday in a ceremony to be held at the Valhalla Inn.
