THUNDER BAY — A local resident faces charges after a city police child pornography investigation.
In February, the Thunder Bay Police Service's Cyber Crime Unit started an investigation of a local internet user possessing and making child pornography available, police said in a Wednesday news release.
There were numerous files that officers reviewed that were consistent with pornographic images of children, police said.
Investigators were led to a home in the area of Edward Street and Churchill Drive, where a search warrant was executed on May 16.
Scott Letourneau, a 34-year-old city resident, was arrested on Wednesday. Letourneau is facing charges of possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and making child pornography available.
The accused appeared in bail court on Wednesday and has been remanded into custody.
The charges have yet to be tested in court.
