In the shadow of the country's largest drug store chain, one local pharmacy continues to thrive.
In less than two weeks, owner Brenda Adams will open a third Janzen's Pharmacy location in the city. This time the new drug store will be opening at the site of a former Shoppers Drug Mart inside the Thunder Bay Medical Centre on Algoma Street.
Adams attributes their continued success to Janzen's emphasis on customer service.
She said many people in the community still prefer to spend their money at locally-owned businesses.
The new location will be up and running on Jan. 16.
Plans for further expansion are in the works.
