Lottery licence required for online lotteries, raffles and bingos

City police are reminding the public a lottery licence is needed when hosting bingos, raffles or online lotteries.

The Thunder Bay Police Service and the City of Thunder Bay’s lottery licensing office would like to remind the public that a lottery licence is required when hosting charitable bingos, raffles or online lotteries.

If you plan to organize these kinds of activities and wish to learn more about lottery licences please contact the Lottery Licencing Officers at 807-625-2546, online at https://www.thunderbay.ca/en/city-services/lottery-licensing.aspx.

The Lottery Licencing Office can assist charities and religious organizations raise funds for their charitable mandates by assisting them through the proper application process.

When participating in online lotteries or raffles, please look for a Lottery Licence Number in any advertising. The holder of a lottery licence will be required to display their licence number in any advertising.
