A flood outlook statement has been issued for the city of Thunder Bay and the surrounding area.
The statement has been issued by the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority for the city, the municipalities of Neebing, Oliver Paipoonge and Shuniah and the townships of O’Connor, Conmee, Gillies and Dorion.
Recent precipitation and snow melting has led to rising water levels and more precipitation is expected over the next few days.
Localized ponding and flooding could occur in low-lying areas. The public should use caution when around waterways.
Staff will monitor conditions as part of the flood forecasting and warning program.
