A proposed law program at Lakehead University is being recommended by an approval committee for law programs in Canada.
A committee with the Approval of New Canadian Law Degree Programs has recommended Lakehead’s proposed program to the Council of the Federation of the Law Societies of Canada.
Members of that council have until Feb. 27 to vote on the recommendation.
A news release issued by officials from Lakehead University states the decision is a crucial step in obtaining approval for the law school.
Officials with Lakehead University refused to comment further on the announcement.
