More high schools students appear to be choosing Lakehead University as the place to continue their studies.
LU recruitment manager Robert Perrier said over six per cent more high school students have applied to Lakehead this year compared to last year. There's been an eight per cent increase in applicants who put Lakehead as their first choice for universities to attend.
The province-wide increase in university applications is less than three per cent. Perrier said he thinks the quality of life offered at a smaller university and LU’s recent advertising campaigns have helped to boost the number of applications.
The numbers include both the Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses of Lakehead.
