THUNDER BAY -- After a dozen years in Thunder Bay, a popular beauty supply store is closing down.
Lush Cosmetics on Sunday announced on Facebook it was shutting its Intercity Shopping Centre location.
"It has been a fantastic 12 years servicing the Lushites of Thunder Bay," the post reads. "The time has come to announce that Lush Intercity will be closing its doors on January 27th, 2019. We look forward to helping you stock up on your favourites over the next 13 days."
The move upset hundreds of customers, who posted their thoughts on the store's Facebook post.
"This is so sad. I was one of the first customers 12 years ago. Fell in love with LUSH when I was in BC," said a user identifying themselves as KC Craig.
"My daughter and I are sad. This is the only place that I will buy bath bombs and skin products for her & I (she is 8). We love that store!" said another fan, identifying herself as Angie Rivas.
It's the latest store to leave the mall, which last year saw anchor tenant Sears Canada close up shop. The mall is adding a Marshall's outlet in a portion of the vacant Sears space.
The company was founded in Britain and was brought to Canada in 1996 by Mark Wolverton and Karen Delaney-Wolverton. Today there are more than 200 Lush stores across North America.
No reason for the closure was given.
