Police have ended their search for a 62-year-old-man accused of an alleged sexual assault involving a child.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers say Arthur Joseph Lyons, who had an arrest warrant out for him, surrendered to police sometime after 3:30 p.m. Monday. Police arrested him without incident in the city’s south side.

A Canada wide arrest warrant was issued earlier in the month for Lyons who was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and breach of probation stemming from an investigation that began on July 25.

The reason for the Canada wide warrant was because of the nature of the case.

Lyons will appear in court via video Tuesday morning.
