THUNDER BAY – The Lakehead Thunderwolves are playoff bound.

Griffen Fox and Joe Mack were the goal scorers on Saturday night, as Lakehead edged arch-rival Western 2-1 to formally lock up a spot in the OUA men’s hockey post-season and climb back into sole possession of second place in the OUA West.

Christian Cicigoi made 29 saves to pick up the win for LU, who improved to 15-6-3, leaving them a point ahead of Toronto Metropolitan and Brock, who helped the Lakehead's cause by downing York 5-1 on Saturday night to seal their postseason bid.

Dylan Miskiw took the loss for the Mustangs, stopping 25 of 27 Thunderwolves shots.

Lakehead travels to York and Brock next weekend.
