THUNDER BAY – With Coun. Paul Pugh out of the picture, things are getting crowded in the McKellar ward race.

On Thursday Tracey MacKinnon filed her papers, bringing the number of contestants to three seeking to replace the retiring Pugh.

She joins Brian Hamilton and Ashley Nurmela, who threw their names into the ring earlier this month.

This week also saw the first candidates register for the Lakehead District School Board trustee election, with Dwayne Radbourne and Karl Skogstad coming forward.

The municipal election is scheduled for Oct. 22. Candidates have until July 27 to register their nomination papers.
