Major bust

The Combined Force Organized Crime Unit has made a significant drug bust in the 400-block of St. Patrick Square Wednesday.

In addition to 111 grams of cocaine, 938 oxycodone tablets and a small quantity of marijuana, police also seized a stolen nine-millimetre Ruger revolver, ammunition and $28,600 in cash from the home.

Police officials said Thursday in a release they have charged an Ottawa man after a lengthy investigation which began last year.

A second suspect, who police have not named, had already been arrested in Quebec on weapons charges.

Twenty-four-year-old Arash Sayvard was arrested Wednesday without incident at a local coffee shop.

He faces multiple charges, including:

· Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
· Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
· Possession of Marijuana
· Proceeds of Crime exceeding $5,000.00
· Careless storage of a firearm
· Careless storage of ammunition
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Possession of prohibited ammunition
· Possession of a loaded restricted firearm
· Possession of restricted firearm obtained by crime

Sayvard was remanded into custody after a court appearance Thursday and will return to court on June. 24.
