Police closed Highway 17 between Dryden and Ignace following a major crash just west of Basket Lake Road.
Officials with the Dryden detachment of the OPP say an investigation is ongoing following a collision between a transport truck and pick-up truck Tuesday morning. Police re-opened one lane of the highway shortly after 2 p.m.
Before the partial re-opening, police officers detoured traffic onto Highway 11 from Thunder Bay and Highway 71 from Kenora if those routes were available.
Police could not say when the highway would be completely re-opened.
Few other details are known at this time. Police say they will release more details as information becomes available.
