Male arrested, charged for trafficking cocaine

Police arrested and charged two people after spotting what appeared to be an early morning drug deal on the city’s south side.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were in the area of the 100 block of May Street South just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11 when they observed a group of five people in an alleyway.

Police also noticed a male had attempted to discard what appeared to be a bag of crack cocaine.

Further investigation revealed a male was in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine, Canadian currency, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

During their investigation a female who was with the original group of five fled, but was arrested a short time later after a brief foot pursuit and struggle.

Adrian Grant RAVEN, 34, of Thunder Bay is charged with Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

Adrienne FORTIER-HOOPER, 33, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Obstruct Peace Officer and Breach of Probation.

Both appeared in bail court on Tuesday, Aug. 11. RAVEN was remanded into custody with a future court date, and FORTIER-HOOPER was released with a future court date.
