THUNDER BAY — A Thunder Bay man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a recent homicide that occurred on the city’s southside on Tuesday.

Thunder Bay Police Service said in a release that officers with the Primary Response Branch were originally dispatched to a residential address in the 200 block of Mary Street East just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday where they learned that an adult female, who appeared to have sustained serious injuries consistent with a recent assault, had died.

A scene was established, and members of the major crimes and forensic identification units are now involved in the ongoing investigation, where as a result of continued investigative efforts, police were able to identify a male suspect.

Cameron Gary-James Adomko, 41, of Thunder Bay has been charged with second-degree murder and two counts of breach of probation.

Police said that Adomko was already in police custody for an unrelated matter, and he was re-arrested and charged on Wednesday.

Adomko is scheduled to appear in court in Thunder Bay on Thursday.

The investigation remains ongoing.
