THUNDER BAY - A 27-year-old man is facing charges related to car theft after an incident early Friday morning.

Eric Cormier appeared in Thunder Bay bail court on Friday, June 19, and was charged with one count of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and a breach of probation charge.

It all started just after 4:30 a.m. on Friday after Thunder Bay police received a 911 call after an individual had witnessed a vehicle being stolen from a driveway from the 100-block of Ruttan Street.

Shortly after, an officer spotted the vehicle parked on Angus Street and when he approached the vehicle the suspect attempted to start the car.
