THUNDER BAY — A 27-year-old Thunder Bay man is charged with armed robbery after brandishing an edged weapon at store staff while attemping to leave with unpaid merchandise.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers were called to a Memorial Avenue business on Monday morning after receiving reports of a weapons call.
Police said the original incident happened at a dollar store, and a male suspect was found in the area of a nearby furniture store.
The accused, who also had an outstanding warrant, was taken into custody.
Jonah Kenny Thomas is charged with one count of armed robbery, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Thomas appeared in bail court on Tuesday and remains in custody with a future appearance date scheduled.
