Police arrested a man they say is suspected of stabbing two people at a south-side home Thursday night.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers say they received a 911 call at about 11 p.m. regarding two people being stabbed.

“It’s not clear what led up to this altercation,” said Thunder Bay Police Service spokesman Chris Adams. “The two stabbing victims were able to escape the apartment, go to another residence and call 911.”

When police arrived they found a 28-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl suffering from what is believed to be stab wounds.

Paramedics brought both victims to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where they were treated for their wounds. The injuries have been listed as non-life threatening.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man at the scene. Adams said the accused may have been known to the male victim.

The suspect has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and will make his first court appearance Friday morning.
