Man assaulted with bear spray while driving

THUNDER BAY - Police are seeking witnesses to an incident on the city’s south side that saw one man taken to hospital after being assaulted with bear spray.

Thunder Bay Police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault just after 2 a.m. on Tuesday in the area of Brodie Street and Victoria Avenue.

According to a media release issued by Thunder Bay Police, a 21-year-old man was driving slowly on Brodie Street with his window down. He was then approached by an individual and sprayed with what is believed to be bear spray.

The man drove to a Simpson Street location where he called 911. He was transported to hospital by paramedics after being treated on the scene.
