THUNDER BAY - A man is in custody after police responded to a reported convenience store theft on Arthur Street on Thursday night.

Sean Michael Main, 25, appeared in bail court on Friday morning, July 31, and will be kept in custody until his next court date on Tuesday.

Main was officially charged with mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000, breach of probation and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Thunder Bay police were dispatched just after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, to respond to a male who had stolen a pop and then proceeded to throw it at the store after walking outside.

Police say the male attempted to re-enter the Arthur Street store, but learned he had been locked out. The man then walked to the south side of the building, picked up a brick and threw it through a large window causing it to shatter, police said.

Officers located the accused at the corner of Arthur Street and Marks Street and was arrested.
