A man is in police custody after breaking into a home, stealing credit cards and a car early Wednesday morning.
A 71-year-old woman discovered the man in her Hebert Street home just after 12 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect fled the home in the woman’s car. She was not injured. Police learned that the stolen credit card had been used at two gas stations in the area before attempting to use it at a third station when police were called and the suspect was arrested around 6 a.m.
The man is charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, possession of break and enter tools, use of a stolen credit card and breach of probation.
