SHOAL LAKE FIRST NATION, Ont.  – Police have charged a 27-year-old Shoal Lake No. 40 First Nations man with failing to remain at the scene of a 2011 fatal vehicle/pedestrian collision in the Northern Ontario community.

Initially police had determined there was not enough evidence to lay a charge in the April 30, 2011 incident, which saw a vehicle strike a pedestrian.

As a result of new information, police reopened their investigation.

Ricky Green remains in custody and is expected to appear in court on Friday.
