Man charged with drug trafficking and weapon possession

FORT FRANCES, ON - Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 30-year old male from Couchiching First Nation with four separate offences.

On Monday at approximately 11 a.m., police were on general patrol when they spotted two men involved in a "verbal exchange."

Officers ended up arresting one of the males after interrogating and charged a 30-year old male with: possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of weapon possession for dangerous purpose, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, and four counts of failure to comply.

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Aug. 9, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances.
