Man charged with murder in Marathon death

Police have arrested and charged a 62-year-old in connection with a sudden death in Marathon.

MARATHON, Ont. -- A 62-year-old man is facing a first-degree murder charge after a woman was found dead in a Marathon home.

Provincial police arrested Alain Lepage after the body of 61-year-old Anne Rainville was found inside a Michano Drive home late Thursday night.

Members of the OPP North West Region Crime Unit and OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

An autopsy is expected to take place Friday afternoon at the Thunder Bay Regional Sciences Centre.

Lepage was scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
