Man crashes into hydro pole, charged in robbery case

City police have a 25-year old man in custody on a number of charges including robbery, possession of stolen property and dangerous driving

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police Service have a 25-year-old man in custody on several charges.

The 25-year-old had tried to rob a gas station on John Street Road around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

During his escape, he backed into a display of washer fluid then drove into a hydro pole, which was located just off of the property disabling the vehicle.

The man ran away, and was arrested shortly after inside a house in the John Street road area when a homeowner reported that there was an unwanted person inside his home.

The man will face charges of robbery, possession of stolen property and dangerous driving.

He was also wanted on previous charges of robbery and forcible confinement.
