A Thunder Bay man died following a crash on an area ice road over the weekend.
Red Lake detachment OPP officials say Michael Krawczuk, 45, of Thunder Bay, died when the van he was driving flipped over after striking a dock in Balmertown. Police say the crash took place sometime Sunday night on an ice road at the entrance to Golf Course Road.
Paramedics who first arrived on scene could not resuscitate the victim.
A post mortem examination was completed at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, which determined that the cause of death was trauma as a result of the crash.
