OPP say two paddlers were entering the mouth of the White River from Lake Superior when their canoe capsized.
One man managed to make it to shore, but the other was swept away by the current.

The man who made it to shore activated a SPOT responder, alerting the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre. A search and rescue aircraft was dispatched and the man was found 500 metres of shore. CPR was started, but he was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics with Superior North EMS arrived.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
