Firefighters say they were surprised to find a man was living in a camper attached to an abandoned truck.
Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue received a call about a fire along Mission Road around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. When firefighters arrived, they found an abandoned truck and camper were on fire. Firefighters say they were surprised to see a man had been apparently living in the camper and escaped.
Paramedics took the man to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre to treat minor burns and smoke inhalation. Firefighters say they don’t expect his condition to be serious.
Firefighters say the man told them he believed the fire was started from an electrical heater he was using to keep warm.
