THUNDER BAY — A 42-year-old man faces aggravated assault charges after an incident at a north-side home that sent one person to hospital with injuries from a stabbing.

Thunder Bay police said officers were called to the 300 block of Lillian Street just before 6:45 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of an assault involving a weapon.

Police said arriving officers found an injured man with injuries consistent with a stabbing. The man was taken to hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Police said the investigation determined that a female victim and male accused, who were both known to one another, had become involved in a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation. That confrontation also led to the injured male victim being assaulted.

The suspect was not at the scene when officers arrived, but he was found nearby less than an hour later.

Police said the accused attempted to provide a false identity prior to being arrested.

Adam John Eric Delin is charged with two counts of assault, one count each of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, resisting a peace officer, and obstructing a peace officer.

He appeared in court on Tuesday and remains in custody.

None of the charges have been tested in court.
