RED LAKE – A Red Lake man is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop.
Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a man travelling on Hughes Crescent in the Municipality of Red Lake.
When officers were speaking with the man, it was determined that he had been consuming alcohol.
The officer made a demand for an approved screening device breath sample and the driver failed.
He was placed under arrest and taken to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old of Red Lake has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 16 to answer to his charges.
