RED LAKE – A motor vehicle collision has resulted in impaired driving charges for a Madsen man.
According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision along Highway 618 Dec. 22 at 11:30 p.m. in the Municipality of Red Lake.
Officers located a single vehicle in the ditch and through investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
A demand for an approved screening device breath sample was made, the driver failed and was placed under arrest and returned to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Madsen man has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
He was released by way of undertaking for Red Lake court on Jan. 20 to answer to his charges.
