Man hospitalized after incident in north end

A man was transported to hospital with unknown injuries after an incident reportedly involving a weapon on Wednesday.

THUNDER BAY – A man has been taken to hospital with unknown injuries after an incident reportedly involving a weapon in Thunder Bay's north end.

Offices with the Thunder Bay Police Service were dispatched to what was initially reported as an incident involving a weapon in the area of Court and McVicar streets just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, police reported.

Officers located an injured male on the scene, who was transported to hospital by Superior North EMS paramedics for evaluation and treatment.

The extent of those injuries is unknown at this time, police said.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units are now involved in the continued investigation.

A significant police presence remains and the public is asked to avoid the area if possible.
