The male driver of the Accura that struck a utility pole and then the trestle for the rail overpass has been charged with Careless Driving.
It was determined that there was significant high speed and distraction of the driver due to a telecommunication device just prior to the loss of control of the vehicle.
The driver was wearing his seatbelt, which very likely saved his life during the impacts.
