Man killed in Trans-Canada crash near Pearl

A motor vehicle collision near Pearl, Ont. has left a Longlac man dead.

Gaetan St. Onge, 45, was killed Friday night when his east-bound passenger car collided with a west-bound pick-up truck on Hwy. 11/17.

A female passenger in St. Onge’s car was transported to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with undetermined injuries. Four occupants of the pick-up truck were also taken to hospital in Thunder Bay with non life-threatening injuries.

The highway was closed for more than four-and-a-half hours while OPP officers conducted their investigation, which is ongoing.
