Man remains in critical condition

A 53-year-old-man is in critical condition following an assault at a south side hotel.

Hotel staff called police just after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Thunder Bay Police Service Officers say the staff reported a man was injured in one of the rooms. Police believed the assault took place sometime during the night. Paramedics rushed the man to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where he remains in critical condition.

Police later charged a man in connection to the assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
