THUNDER BAY - A man was sent to hospital after being rescued from a waterway on the city's north side.
According to a Thunder Bay Fire Rescue media release, just after 3 p.m. on Saturday, crews received reports of a man in McVicar Creek near the intersection of Algoma Street and Dawson Street.
The man who is approximately 40-years-old was observed in the creek close to the bridge at the intersection. Two firefighters entered the water to secure the man and he was successfully removed from the water.
Fire crews transferred the man to the care of paramedics who transported him to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
There is no word on the man’s condition at this time. No other injuries were reported during this incident.
