Police are looking for a man after a cab driver was robbed at knifepoint and his taxi was stolen Tuesday afternoon.

The driver had picked up a man from Westfort Foods just before 4 p.m. Tuesday. Near the 600 block of South Marks Street, the man pulled a knife on the driver and demanded money.

Once the driver and passenger got out of the cab, the passenger got back in and drove off with the taxi leaving the uninjured driver behind.

The taxi was discovered a short time later by police behind the Royal Edward Arms on May Street. The suspect is a Caucasian male between 25 to 30 years old. He stands about 6-1 with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a light-coloured T-shirt.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Thunder Bay Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
