Video: Man robs gas bar with screwdriver

The Shell gas bar on North Cumberland Street was robbed Monday afternoon.

THUNDER BAY – City police are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify a suspect who robbed a north side gas bar with a screwdriver.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the robbery took place at the Shell gas bar at 277 North Cumberland Street just before 3 p.m. on Monday.

The male suspect entered the gas bar with a screwdriver and made demands of the employee before leaving with an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male around 50-years-old, standing about five-feet-six-inches tall. He had a scruffy beard and wore a black hoodie, black shirt and a black toque pulled over his eyes at the time of the incident.
