Man shot and killed in Amelia Street murder

Police say a 31-year-old Thunder Bay man died as a result of apparent gunshot wounds

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police say they are investigating a homicide in the 200 block of Amelia Street West. 

A 31-year-old man died as a result of apparent gunshot wounds, pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Police have withheld the victim's name until next-of-kind can be notified. 

Police say they initially were called to the area after reports of shots being fired. 

The major crimes unit is now involved in the investigation and police are maintaining a presence in the area.

It's Thunder Bay's fifth murder of 2021.
