DRYDEN, ON — A standoff near Dryden that lasted for much of the day on Sunday ended with one person being taken into custody.

Ontario Provincial Police say a male was apprehended at a residence in Wabigoon without any known injuries.

The incident began shortly before 10 a.m. when officers responded to a report of an assault.

They arrived at the scene to find a person had barricaded himself inside the residence with another individual.

Police cordoned off the area while crisis negotiators worked to resolve the situation peacefully.
