Manslaughter suspect arrested in Grassy Narrows

THUNDER BAY - A man charged in connection with a 2016 death in Thunder Bay has been arrested in Grassy Narrows.

According to a Thunder Bay Police Service media release, Armand George Cummings was arrested by Treaty Three Police on Mar. 14, 2017 in the community 80 kilometres north of Kenora.

Cummings, 42-years-old, was charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of 35-year-old Mannie Spence. Spence’s body was found on Sept. 15, 2016 in a compound on Court Street.

Cummings was arrested on Sept. 17, 2016 at an Ambrose Street address and charged with manslaughter. He was remanded into custody until Sept. 19.

On Feb. 21, 2017, Cummings failed to make a court appearance and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Arrangements are being made to transfer Cummings back to Thunder Bay.
