Marathon resident facing child pornography charges

MARATHON —A Marathon resident is facing several charges related to child pornography, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

Marathon OPP were alerted of a possible inappropriate relationship between a youth and a 27-year-old Marathon resident on March 29, according to a police news release. An investigation resulted in the arrest of Alexander Morgan, 27, of Marathon.

The charges against the accused include adult sexual interference, adult possession of child pornography, distributing sexually explicit material to a person under 16 years of age, and luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication.

The accused was released following a bail hearing. Their next court date is May 14.
