A routine traffic stop on the Trans-Canada highway has resulted in a drug bust.
OPP officers from the Marathon detachment pulled over a vehicle Tuesday on Highway 17 in Pic Township.
During the stop, the officer discovered about $150,000 worth of marijuana in the vehicle. The exact amount discovered was not specified by police.
The driver, Nicholas Charland, 31, and the passenger, Suzanne Tran, 23, both of Edmonton, were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Both of the accused have been remanded into custody and transferred to the Thunder Bay District Jail where they are now awaiting trial.
