A new piece of playground equipment is noticeably absent from Marina Park.
City Park's Manager Paul Fayrick said they've had to take down the slide from the waterfront playground following a safety recall.
The twisting, plastic slide called the Slalom Glider is produced in Minnesota, and was voluntarily recalled by the company after several reports of injuries.
Children can fall when moving from the ladder to the chute, which doesn't have any sides on it.
Fayrick said they're now awaiting word on a replacement from the manufacturer.
He added that he expects to have something more conventional in place for the spring or early summer months at no cost to the city.
