One year ago the new Mary J.L. Black library opened its doors to the public for the first time.
And since then the number of users has continued to grow, according to library officials.
To mark the first anniversary, visitors and supporters of Mary J.L. Black were treated with a big birthday cake Wednesday afternoon.
Community development director Tina Tucker says the first year has gone even better than expected, with statistics increasing in almost every area including visitation.
Tucker believes the Westfort library branch has been successful so far because it's new and has a variety of materials and programming for all ages.
