QUEEN'S PARK — When classes resume in Ontario schools next month, COVID-19 protocols will remain the same as they were last spring.

That means students will not be required to wear masks in the classsroom or on the school bus.

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that usage will be voluntary, and that masks will be available to students who request them.

School boards will also continue to be provided with rapid COVID-19 test kits.

Wearing masks at school became mandatory in the fall of 2020, the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the requirement was rescinded in March of this year.
