THUNDER BAY — An investigation is underway into a fire at a May Street rooming house that's been closed since early November.
The Thunder Bay Fire Service says firefighters answered a call to 130 May Street South on Sunday night.
A spokesperson said they found a fire in the interior but were able to douse the flames before any substantial damage was caused.
The building, located less than a block from City Hall, was ordered vacated by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit last month because of unsanitary and unsafe conditions.
It is owned by a numbered Ontario company based in the Greater Toronto Area.
